Overview
SFTP Integration automates file exchange between NetSuite and external SFTP servers, handling both inbound and outbound transfers on a scheduled basis. It supports CSV and XML formats, works with any NetSuite record type, and covers a wide range of integration scenarios where a trading partner or system exchanges files rather than connecting through an API.
Common applications include 3PL and warehouse fulfillment workflows, ACH and banking file delivery, EDI file exchange, scheduled data exports to downstream systems, and inbound order or inventory imports from external partners.

Common Use Cases
3PL and Warehouse Fulfillment. Send Sales Order and fulfillment files to a 3PL or warehouse partner and receive inbound shipment confirmations back into NetSuite, automatically. Supports multi-3PL environments and flat file formats used by warehouse systems.
ACH and Banking. Deliver ACH payment files, Positive Pay files, or other bank-formatted outputs to a bank SFTP portal. Supports SSH key authentication for secure transmission to banking systems.
EDI File Exchange. Exchange EDI files with trading partners that use SFTP as their transport layer. Handles both inbound and outbound file workflows for standard EDI formats.
Scheduled Data Export. Push data from NetSuite to a partner or downstream system on a recurring schedule. Common uses include daily inventory feeds, commission files, item catalog exports, and order reporting.
Inbound Order and Data Import. Receive Sales Order, Purchase Order, or other transaction files from trading partners and process them into NetSuite automatically.
Advanced Logging Add-On
SFTP Advanced Logging is an optional add-on that creates a searchable transfer history inside NetSuite. Each file transfer is recorded with the timestamp, file name, SFTP destination, and success or failure status, giving your team a persistent audit trail without digging through system logs.
Requirements
An SFTP server is required to use this solution. If your business does not have one, an SFTP hosting service is available as an add-on. No additional NetSuite modules are required. Initial setup includes configuring your SFTP connection credentials and defining the parameters for each import or export job.
