Overview
Lot Expiration Required enforces expiration date entry on Purchase Order receipts for lot-tracked items, right at the point of receiving. For businesses in food and beverage, health and beauty, life sciences, or any industry where lot tracking and expiration compliance matter, it closes a gap that NetSuite leaves open by default: a user can receive inventory without entering an expiration date, which means that data may never get captured at all.
With Lot Expiration Required, you choose which items need enforcement. When someone tries to save a receipt without entering an expiration date for a covered item, NetSuite stops them and prompts them to complete it before continuing.
Features
- Configure expiration date enforcement on a per-item basis for lot-tracked items
- Enforces expiration date entry on Purchase Order receipts
- Blocks the transaction from saving until a valid expiration date is entered, with a clear error message
See it running in your receiving flow.
A 20-minute walkthrough — bring a lot-tracked item and we'll enforce expiration entry on a receipt live.
Requirements
Requires NetSuite Lot Tracking to be enabled. No additional modules required beyond lot tracking.

We needed a smarter and easier way to quote. Our previous quoting process — if you could call it that — was reliant on Excel and prone to errors.
