Challenge

When Covid-19 hit, ATG's CEO wanted to use the company's China sourcing experience to bring large volumes of PPE to U.S. frontline workers. The hard part was balance: keep everyday operations running smoothly while standing up an entirely new business line for a new customer demographic. As a company built fully in the cloud, ATG didn't hold inventory, so it had to take orders into its NetSuite back office and ship through a third-party warehouse it had never worked with before. A short experiment taking orders by hand in Google Docs made it clear they needed real help, fast.

Approach

ATG turned to its NetSuite partner, Luxent, to extend the system it already had into a new sales channel. Luxent built a NetSuite Site Builder web store (allitrashop.com) to list products and take orders, with native tax calculation and UPS Ground shipping. To handle ATG's dual SKU structure, Interpack items like a box of 40 masks alongside Master Case items like a case of 50 boxes, Luxent's team wrote a SuiteScript 2.0 automation that translated web orders into the exact SKU and quantity the 3PL needed, then synced inventory back into NetSuite daily. A new Inventory Commitment Model pre-allocated open purchase orders to the sales orders awaiting shipment.

Results

ATG was fully up and running on the new processes in a matter of weeks, going from concept to execution on a timeline the CFO called "pretty much unheard-of." The 3PL integration that could have meant months of work, a costly third-party EDI build, and heavy consulting fees was instead automated end to end for a fraction of the cost. The web store, order processing, and inventory management now run as one centralized flow with daily reports, so ATG always knows exactly what it has on hand. The result was a successful pivot into PPE without pulling the team away from the core business.
