Challenge

Aurora Spine was bogged down by a legacy QAD ERP that couldn't keep pace with a highly regulated industry, complex supply chains, and the reporting demands of a publicly traded company. The team spent more time working outside the ERP, leaning on Excel to manage day-to-day work, and simple tasks turned into labor-intensive manual changes. As Chad Clouse, the CFO, put it, accuracy and visibility are key in a fast-paced industry, and they needed to be able to trust their data to make decisions quickly and report confidently to their board and investors.

Approach

Aurora Spine found us early in the switch to NetSuite, knowing that picking the right partner mattered as much as picking the right software. They wanted a NetSuite provider with proven platform experience, real medical device industry knowledge, and the ability to implement best practices from day one. We helped them move off QAD onto a flexible, customizable cloud platform built for regulatory compliance and lot traceability, so they could capture costs in real time across production instead of reconstructing them by hand. The work stayed adaptable as Aurora Spine's schedules and needs shifted, which kept the project on track without expensive custom coding.

Results

Aurora Spine now closes the month inside the system, runs workflow approvals, and captures and tracks costs and assets in real time, from the supply chain all the way to the operating room. Knowing the true cost of an item and how material costs are changing in real time is, in Clouse's words, a game-changer, and tracking the individually expensive component tools back into a surgical kit after surgery directly protects the bottom line. With the right software and the right partner in place, Aurora Spine says it's set up for success and plans to keep growing on NetSuite.
